Okay, I wanna see the Watchmen movie. Of course, I need to read the comic first. I've only read about 1/4th of it then I probably got distracted by Robins or some such. Now, I have a reason to read it. I didn't know Question and Blue Beetle (Ted) had existed BEFORE the Watchmen. I love Ted and Vic, and there are characters based off them in the comic, so says the internet.

Obviously, Rorschach is based off the Question, which made him more awesome than I already thought he was. Nite Owl II is based off Ted, so I hear. <3 And the Comedian is based off of Peacemaker (who we've seen lately in the the latest Blue Beetle run). Three characters based off of three already awesome characters. I gotta read this just for that, then see the movie. <3

I always under the impression that Question came after Rorschach, and that Ted was created during Crisis on Infinite Earths. Guess I was wrong. *goes to read Watchmen* Oh, one quote I remembered that makes me giggle. Thanks, Rorschach.

"Possibly homosexual? Must remember to investigate further." A excerpt from Rorschach's journal about Adrian Veidt.

*shrugs* My ex-manager watched it, and he didn't hate it. He thought it was a pretty good adaptation. It only took out things that were obviously not workable for a movie. It'll depend, I guess. If they get Rorschach right, I won't care about anything else. >>;;

Rorschach was clearly the biggest badass ever.

also on a completely different not, i kind of had a crush on Nite Owl II, but i also have a really weird/nerdy taste in guys.

:D Nite Owl II is based off of one of my favorite DC characters.

Blue Beetle II: http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Ted_Kord

Hehe, and my icon is about him. Ted was such awesome nerdy boy. *kicks DC for killing good things*

The way I understand it, Nite Owl was more an amalgam of Ted and Bruce, but I can see more Ted than Bruce there. And The Question is a really interesting case. Rorshach was loosely based on The Question, and then when the Justice League and JLU cartoons came out, The Question was altered to be more like Rorshach, complete with the 'ugly' face beneath the mask as a direct tribute.

Anyway, I read the graphic novel twice, and I thought the film was an absolutely brilliant adaptation. Obviously there were things they couldn't fit in, but what they had to skim over they did really well. The changed ending worked even better than what was in the graphic, IMO, and there's a whole plotline that's gonna be released as an animated short, so... there you have it. :)

Ooh, that means a Ted-Bruce hybrid with all the awesomeness of Batman without the Batdickery? And the awesome nerdiness that is Ted. <3 Or at least, that's how I read it. ^-^

Heeey, stay out of hiatus! You're fun! *give puppy dog eyes*

Watchmen was pretty good as a movie, but I agree you should read the novel first.

I will~ I can't stand to watch movies without reading the book/comic first if it's an adaptation.

WARNING - Watchman is a dangerous read.

I bought DH a hard back copy recently and promptly swiped it to read. As I was lying in bed reading, with the book held above me, my shoulder cramped. I dropped the book on myself and bloodied my lip. LOL So be careful.

It was a good read, and I picked up on the Rorshach/Question connection, but until you mentioned it I didn't see the other. But now it's sooo obvious. I saw another one, but I'll wait til you've finished reading it to see if you can pick it out yourself.

Haha, luckily for me, it's on my computer, so it can't harm me. >>;;

There were a few more the internet pointed out, but I'm gonna keep reading and see what I find.
