So yeah, I was ranting about how Mr. Addeo isn't coming back, so Anime Club is short someone to watch us and then I got on the subject of how none of us had the courage to ask Mr. Cunningham to stay after to watch us because he lives so far and with all the shit he's been through during this summer but she completely, utterly ignored and kept prattling on about other shit while I was talking.

This pissed me off to no end because Mr. C is one of my favorite teacher's so when I'm talking about him I'd like people to show some respect and listen. She didn't. By the end of that little scene I was crying a bit, I was so pissed. I'd say it takes a lot to get me to cry but that's probably not true. I'm just a crybaby at heart, which really fails.

But the good thing that same out of this. I FORCED mommy to listen to me. She wanted to watch soap operas so I glared at her then she decided to bring up summer reading. I said The Purloined Letter bored me when I tried to read it so I just re-read The Raven. I kinda love that poem. I like the rhyme scheme so I made mommy listen to me read it. She wasn't really listening, again but all the repeating seemed to annoy her A LOT. Now I shall memorize so I can say whenever it's convenient to me and drive her insane.

When my uncle was in high school his one English teacher said that if a student could memorize a lenghty poem, they would automatically get an A for the quarter.

He chose The Raven, and still recites it. And that makes me happy.

You should memorize The Raven, if not to drive your mother insane, but to make me happy.

so, why weren't you listening to her? perhaps the stuff she was "prattling on about" was important to her. i can't see how you expect respect when you don't give it.

I heard her. She was just bitching about how we couldn't get out of the parking lot. I already KNEW that since all the cars were locking us in so what she was saying pretty useless.
