lady_zip at my Mood Meme. Prompt: Cass/Steph - restless. Also my first entry for my Steph Needs More Love Challenge. Steph feels like someone is watching her. She was right.

After Tim had told her to stop being Spoiler, Steph had started to become restless. It wasn't because her sleep schedule suddenly had no reason to not resemble a normal person's sleep schedule. It wasn't even because she wasn't allowed to go out at night anymore. She could take a hint, and well, nowadays with Gotham in turmoil, it was best not to go out without backup.
The real reason Steph couldn't sleep was because she was positive someone was watching her through her bedroom window. It wasn't some common creep either. She would have noticed them right away then left them in traction for spying on her. No, this person was obviously trained because Steph only noticed because of her own training, not because the person was noticeable at all.
At first, Steph entertained that it was Tim, but she knew him well enough, or at least she hoped she still did, that she was sure it wasn't him. There weren't many other people it could be. It wouldn't make sense for Nightwing or anyone else, and none of the bad guys were that stealthy, not that she knew of.
So, in lieu of any other plan, Steph opened her window and leaned out. “Hey, whoever you are, I'm gonna leave the window open. You can just come in, you know,” she told the shadows.
Once she turned away and moved to leave her room, she heard her window shut quietly. Steph spun around to see Batgirl. “Cass!” she exclaimed in surprise. “I didn't think it was you... I guess I should have known, huh?”
Cass frowned obviously under her mask. “Reckless,” she stated unhappily.
Steph looked sheepish. “I was almost positive it was someone with bat training, so I didn't have to worry too much.”
“Worry more,” Cass stated before pulling of her cowl. “Why aren't you part of the Network?”
Steph blinked. “What Network?” she asked, baffled.
“The Network is a system of vigilantes working together to protect Gotham,” Cass answered, glancing at the Spoiler costume hanging from the door of Steph's closet. “Spoiler would be welcome.”
“I'm not Spoiler anymore,” Steph said quietly as she closed her closet door, hiding the costume from site. “Tim didn't tell you?”
Cass looked confused. “That hasn't stopped you before,” she said slowly, “why would it now?”
That was a good question, and it made Steph rethink things before opened the closet and pulled out her costume. She held up with a smile which Cass returned before Steph pulled her into an almost unexpected hug. “Thanks, Cass,” Steph murmured. “I really needed to hear that someone believes in me.”
Cass awkwardly hugged back, nodding. “I believe in you,” she said quietly, and Steph just hugged her tighter.
