After the whole debacle with Young Justice not existing, the team gained another member by the name of Jason Todd. Cassie didn't understand the fuss that Robin, Tim was his name since they had found out during the time their team didn't exist, was having, but that wasn't her problem.
Cassie had no problems with new member to their team. The boys seemed to, and Greta just sided with Tim because she liked him, but Cassie and Cissie thought differently. Cissie has voiced to Cassie, hoping that Jason, Jay as they called him since he decided he really couldn't be Robin here and Blue Jay was a cool code name, didn't feel out of place with them.
So to make sure he didn't, Cassie decided to take him out for a picnic to get him out of stuff cave that Tim wouldn't let him leave. Cissie set up the picnic in a nearby park, sun shining brightly on the blanket. Cassie flew them over, flying low, and when they got close to Cissie, Jay let go of Cassie's hand did a few flips before landing in front of Cissie.
Jay grinned brightly at Cissie, grabbing her hand when she jumped back so she wouldn't fall over. “Did I surprise ya? You knew I was coming, though,” he said cheerfully as he sat cross-legged on the blanket, Cassie landing with a bit of a giggle, sitting next to Jay.
Cissie huffed a little as she sat down too. “Well, I didn't expect you to tumble down from the sky, Jay,” she mumbled as she opened up the picnic basket.
Jay rubbed the back of his head. “Sorry, Cissie,” he apologized.
Cassie grinned. “Don't worry, Jay. Not your fault Cissie's not prepared for anything,” she teased, only to get an elbow in the side.
“Oh quiet and let's eat, okay?” Cissie said, passing the food out as she turned to Jay. “Though we haven't said this, we just wanted make sure you feel welcome even though the other guys are being jerks.”
“Yeah!” Cassie interjected, plating herself some potato salad. “We like you, Jay, and we just wanted to make sure you knew that.”
Jay beamed as he put down the plate he was filling up, his smile brighter than the sunshine. “Thanks, ladies,” he said before kissing them both on the cheek. “You guys are swell.”
Cissie and Cassie just smiled, glad they had set up this picnic for Jay.
