------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason had only been living in the manor for a few short weeks, but he learned quickly who was the true power of the house, and it wasn't Batman or Bruce Wayne. Even Bruce knew Alfred Pennyworth was what kept everything in Wayne Manor going, including its residents.
So when Alfred took a short weekend furlough to visit family, Jason was pretty sure he was going to starve to death. Sure, he lived on the streets for a while on his own, and he could totally whip up a small, most likely unhealthy, snack in the kitchen, but there was no way he was disturbing Alfred's kitchen while he was away. It was like sacrilege.
Which is why when Bruce came upstairs, his batsuit obviously still under his robe, Jason begrudgingly followed him to the kitchen. They had been working on a case, and they needed nourishment. Jason suggested ordering a pizza, but Bruce wouldn't hear of it. For some reason, he thought he was perfectly capable of making them something to eat.
And while Jason was sure Batman could do anything he put his mind to, he did not include cooking in this lengthy repertoire. All Jason knew it was going to be a long night, and it was not going to have anything to do with the case they had been working on or patrol, but Jason resigned himself to at least making sure Bruce didn't destroy the kitchen. He could at least do that then let the goddamn Batman clean up his own mess.
