He wasn't exactly sure what was going on. Well, he knew some of the things he was told like he didn't belong to the this world, and that he wasn't supposed to exist, but he tried not to take them to heart. He was Jason Todd, a Flying Todd, and he had been Robin, for a time, even if it had been years ago. Now Jason was just confused, since he heard that Gotham was a mess.

That wasn't the only rumor he had heard either. He had heard Batman was dead, which couldn't be true. Bruce couldn't die. Jason may not have seen him in a few years, but he couldn't have died. When he did make it back to Gotham, it better off than he had heard, but there was no news reports on Bruce Wayne's death, so Batman had to be alive, right?

Jason ran a hand through his red again hair. He'd let it grow out red again after he stopped being Robin. He needed to find himself and stop trying to be Dick. He missed Dick and Bruce, so Jason was hoping to head to the manor, but before he could, some jerk held a gun to his back and asked for all his money.

He had to stop himself from laughing at the guy, but before he could flip down and kick the gun out of the man's hand, Batman swooped down and took out the guy. Jason looked up and blinked as Batman zipstripped the guy. Only seeing him from behind, Jason smiled and put a hand on Batman's shoulder.

“Thanks, but I totally could have-” Jason started but cut himself off when Batman turned around. “Dick! What are you doing dressed as Batman?”

Dick stared at him for a moment. “Jason?” he question incredulously. “When did you dye your hair?”

Jason blinked, running a hand through his hair almost nervously. “Hey, you know this is my natural hair color,” he answered, but Dick didn't stop staring. “Where's Bruce?”

That seemed to knock Dick out of his weird little reverie. “Come with me,” he said as he grabbed Jason's wrist, heading down the street.

Jason almost winced at the grip on his wrist. He would complain, but Jason had a feeling there was reason Dick was Batman, and it couldn't be a good one.

Everything was explained when they got to the Batcave, which didn't explain anything, really. Sure, Jason knew what happened and why Dick was Batman, but it didn't explain why Jason was there. He was apparently not the Jason Todd of this Earth, just like some weird guy had told him before trying to kill him. This Earth had no Jason Todd of the Flying Todds. The Jason Todd of this Earth had been a street kid who Bruce had taken in to be Robin. Dick wouldn't tell him much more than that.

“...I guess you and that other Jason were never close,” Jason said quietly, feeling like a stranger in the Batcave, which was a feeling he never thought he'd have after being Robin.

“We might have been,” Dick answered, finally pulling off his cowl. “...were you and the...other me close?”

Jason thought about that for a moment before smiling a little. “We might have been,” he gave Dick back his own answer. “I was too young for him at first then after...I had to stop trying to be him, and be myself. I didn't see him again after that...”

Dick frowned. “That's too bad,” he stated. “I don't know if he would think the same as I do, but I think he would have liked you. You have red hair,” he added as a joke before ruffling Jason's hair.

Jason snorted, catching Dick's hand mid-ruffle. They stared for a moment before Jason yanked at Dick's hand and pulled him into a hug. It was strange, but sort of familiar, so Dick didn't pull away. They stayed that way for a while, until Jason pulled away with a smile.

“Thanks,” he said quietly, not moving too far from Dick.

“For what?” Dick asked, scrunching up his nose.

“For still being Dick, even though you're Batman,” Jason answered.

Dick grinned ruffling Jason's hair again. Even though it wasn't the Jason he knew, he felt comfortable with him. “Nice to know I'm still me,” he murmured. “Hard to tell sometimes.”

“I don't think a Flying Grayson could be anything be himself,” Jason said with a grin, ducking out of the hair ruffle. “I know I'm not really supposed to be here, since it's not my Earth, but do you think I could stay, with you?”

Dick paused, thinking about the dangers of it, but he couldn't help but nod. “I can't let a fellow acrobat live on the streets, can I?”

Jason grinned widely, before pulling Dick into another hug. “Thank you!” he announced hugging Dick tightly, which made Dick smile a little himself.

It was weird to have a Jason that was so happy, so different from the Jason he knows. A Jason with an obviously acrobat body and red hair made Dick smile, but even though he said yes, he was going to have to watch himself around this Jason. Not because Dick thought this Jason was dangerous, but because Dick shouldn't be trusted with red head Jason that was probably as acrobatic as Dick. It was a combination Dick probably couldn't resist.
