Roy had never been to a circus before, but the other Titans had wanted to go, and he wasn't at the Tower too often, so he might as well go with them. Of course, he got ditched. He tried to tell himself they do it on purpose, but this group of sidekicks just wasn't a cohesive group. They weren't really friends with each other. It was like an integral part of them was missing.
Not wanting to dwell on that too long, Roy decided to at least enjoy the acrobat show. At first, they showed the Graysons together, short their son, who the ringleader said would be flying on his own after his parents' show. Roy was entertained enough by the famous Flying Graysons, but he was all but entranced when Dick Grayson took center stage.
Dick's costume was even flashier than his parents and covered a lot less skin. When Dick was in the air, his costume caught the lights, making him sparkle as he pulled off amazing feats of flexibility and acrobatic grace. When the show finished, Roy couldn't help himself; he had to find this acrobat and at least talk to him, if not more than talk.
