comment_fic. Prompt: "author's choice, author's choice, the line between love and hate." Dick was Batman now, and Jason was Red Hood yet again. The lines between them were blurring, and Dick didn't know how to stop it. (Might have Batman & Robin #4 spoilers.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ever since Bruce died, every clear line Dick had in his life had blurred. Becoming Batman solved as many problems as it created, but at least the lines between good guy and bad guy were clear. That was until Jason came back on the scene.
Jason killed people, which in Batman's book made Jason the villain, but Dick, even though he hated a lot of what his 'brother' did, still considered him family. Dick didn't have much of that left, with Bruce dead and having inadvertently pushing Tim away as he tried his best to save Damian by passing down the Robin mantle.
When Dick fought against the new and approved Red Hood, Dick was a little at a loss what to do other than keep Damian out of it. It seemed Jason had the same idea since his sidekick Scarlet was also nowhere to be seen.
They met and fought in an abandoned warehouse, and once Dick thought he gotten the upper hand when Jason's helmet went flying, everything got turned around on him. He was on his back, and Jason was straddling him, which definitely didn't lead to good memories. He shoved Jason off and pinned him to the ground.
Jason laughed a bit; a normal laugh, not like the one heard from him when he masqueraded as Batman a few short months ago. “So, Batman, now that you have me pinned, what are you going to do with me?” he asked, oh so innocently.
Dick growled, holding his grip on Jason's arms pinned above his head. “Send you to jail where you belong,” he answered in his best Batman voice, which was a bit lacking, and they both knew it.
“Oh no, you wouldn't do that,” Jason said silkily. “C'mon, you know what you really want to do to me now that you have me pinned down, don't you?”
“Shut up,” Dick growled which just made Jason laugh again, which made Dick a little happy inside that Jason could still laugh like that, after everything.
“Make me,” Jason dared with a grin. “I bet you won't. I bet being the Bat changed you, Dickie.”
Dick wasn't sure if his lips crashed down to meet Jason's was to shut him up or to prove that the cowl hadn't changed him, but once the kissing started, Dick couldn't stop, and he wasn't sure which side of that hate-love line he was on anymore.
