Title: City So High
Fandom: DCU
Character(s): Steph, Tim
Pairing(s): Steph/Tim
Word Count: 646
Genre: general/romance
Rating: PG-13/T
Notes: I was gonna binge, then I stopped at about 4 fics. Heh, I wrote about 2600 words today, so I think quality over quantity works here. XD Prompt: "DCU, Tim/Steph, the look of the city from above" Batgirl really thinks this shouldn't have happened. When she was Spoiler, probably, but now that she's Batgirl.

She hated being blindfolded. Actually, Steph wanted to amend that statement. She hated being blindfolded when it meant she was being taken somewhere against her will. She was Batgirl, and goddammit, this shouldn’t have happened. Whoever sneaked up on her is gonna have hell to pay.
...once her feet are on the ground, because she knows she’s way to high in the air to be making an escape attempt right now, but once her feet are on solid ground, pow! Right in the face of whoever did this.
After more wind whipping through her hair, Steph began to wonder if this person wasn’t just flying her somewhere, but no, she could tell that whoever it was was swinging from a line, and they were definitely still in Gotham since the smell of the city is rather unforgettable.
Steph was beginning to worry that maybe she’d have to call Babs to get help, but the fleeting thought of Damian coming to her rescue (because Babs would send him, just to tell her to be more aware of her surroundings) made her decide she could handle this. ...even though, she was pretty sure they were just going higher and higher with every swing.
When they finally landed, Steph moved to rip off the blindfold and attack, but her captor yanked it off for her. She was standing on top of Wayne Tower with the best view of the city below her. It made her smile because she had this view before which made her spin around and wrap her arms around her captor.
“Tim,” she murmured, “you have the weirdest sense of romance ever.”
“You weren’t talking to me,” he said, wrapping his arms around her. “I had to get your attention without getting punched in the face again.”
Steph giggled a little at that, pressing her forehead against Tim’s. “Yeah? Just so you know, I was totally planning on punching my captor in the face. You’re real lucky I didn’t,” she stated with a little smirk.
“Oh?” Tim asked innocently, teasing. “I thought you knew it was me, with your new Batgirl training and all.”
“Maybe I did, and I was going to punch you anyway,” she teased back before pushing back his cowl. “Or maybe just do this.”
Steph pressed her lips against his, and she felt his arms tighten around her waist. They kissed, and she let her hands run through his hair. When the kiss broke, she smiled.
“You need a hair cut, ex-boyfriend wonder,” she said, twirling some hair between her fingers.
“Yeah, probably,” Tim replied, bringing up a hand to stroke Steph’s cheek. “About the ex-boyfriend wonder part of that...”
Steph pulled off her cowl and raised an eyebrow. “Got a bad case of the Stephs?” she asked innocently.
Tim snorted, lightly yanking on a stray strand of her hair. “Maybe, but I don’t want to rush into anything...”
Steph pulled away, yanking her cowl back on. Tim reached out to her, but she shook her head and turned away. A frown marred Tim’s face as he pulled his cowl back on, about to leave before Steph spun around on her heel.
“Hi, my name’s Batgirl. Nice to meet you,” Steph greeted, extending her hand to shake.
Tim looked at her funny for a moment before taking her hand and pressing it to his lips. “I’m Red Robin, and you’re beautiful,” he murmured.
Steph laughed and gave him a little shove. “Ooh, a flatterer. I like that in a man,” she flirted as she took out her grapple gun. “Wanna fight some crime together, Red Robin?”
“I’d love to, Batgirl,” Tim answered, getting out his own grappled gun. “Lead the way.”
Giving a definite Batgirl kind of smile, she leaped off the roof, shooting her grapple as she flew above the city, with Red Robin following in suit.
