“Jason, are you sure it’s such a good idea to start off driving lessons with a motorcycle?” Connor asked skeptically.
“Don’t worry. This one’s custom made, and you can’t crash it,” Jason replied, handing Connor the helmet. “The helmet’s just a precaution and has headset in it, so can talk during the ride.”
Connor still felt nervous as he pulled the helmet on. “Jason, what if-”
“Can’t happen,” Jason cut him off, leading him to on the bike before pulling on his own helmet. “And I’ll be riding with you. No worries, Con.”
That still didn’t help the nervousness in the pit of Connor’s stomach as he climbed onto the bike. Jason instructed him over the comms in the helmets. He listened, memorizing what every handle and meter did. Soon, they were off. Connor was still nervous, but they were moving faster than a person could run, and they hadn’t crashed yet.
“See? Not that hard, right?” Jason said soothingly through the helmets after about an hour, giving Connor’s waist a little squeeze.
“Yeah, I guess not...” Connor replied, not sure if he believed that or not, but he was driving, and they weren’t road pizza, so that counted for something.
