Notes: Tah-dah! My Remix fic! And only a few days late! I'm such a bad mod. ^-^;; This is for
kirax2, and I remixed Wisps and Reflections in Steph's POV. Dude, I had like three other fics I wanted to remix too (Dick/??? from another POV, the creepy Jason/Talia one from Jason's POV, and the one where Tim tells Jason Damian's not Bruce's son), but it seems Steph would not have it. She demanded attention, and Jason got shoved aside. You know, eventually, Jay'll get fed up and fight back, Steph muse. >>;; (...I may have got the remix name from Kingdom Hearts 2; omg, four more days until a new game! Squeeeee!)

When Tim told her about his plan, Steph had adamantly decided not to accept. She was about to tell him hell no, but then, somehow, she had gotten talked into it. Tim had a way with words, or maybe she wasn’t quite as over him as she kept telling herself she was.
No, I’m over him, she told herself as she watched the party from a dark, shadowed corner. This is for the Mission. Tam...shouldn’t be in the line of fire just because I don’t like her...and I’m not jealous.
Steph’s eyes followed the ‘happy couple’ around their engagement party, schmoozing and keeping close. Her stomach knotted up at the sight, and she just told herself it would be over soon, that she’d get to end it, and that shouldn’t have made her feel better as much as it did. Maybe she was deluding herself into thinking she was over Tim.
They had been so close, once, and he had been the best part of her life for so long. Sometimes, it was hard for her to forget that it was over; she and Tim were just friends and ‘co-workers.’ It didn’t help that their work seemed to put them in awkward situations, ones that forced her to remember every bit of when they were together, whether she wanted to or not.
It was little things that would make her remember how wonderful dating Tim could be. The fact was that, even though she had changed and matured quite a lot with her new costume, he still knew her so well. He could still predict her better than anyone else she knew. He was just Tim; he hadn’t been quite the same before he left for Europe, so it had been easier to push aside her feelings, but now, Steph could see the Tim she remembered and loved so much.
She shook her head; the party was an hour in, and it was time for her ‘entrance.’ She needed to pay attention, not think about what was. Steph moved out of the shadows, making sure to catch Tim’s eye, and she could feel Tam’s eyes on her too. Steph knew what would come next, and that she was going to hate it.
Knowing what was coming and watching Tim kiss Tam like they were actually...they were two completely different things. She kept herself from reacting too much. There was a script, and she had a part to play. It wasn’t ad lib, and Steph wasn’t going to bitch slap Tam. No, that wasn’t the plan.
Steph made her way across the room to them, ignoring all the people cheering on the kiss. It’s not that great a kiss anyway, she thought a little darkly. If you want a great kiss, you should have seen when I came back to Gotham.
Then it was time for her lines, and she pushed those thoughts from her head. Steph spoke the words she had rehearsed, and Tim responded in kind. She interrupted him, icily, just like she would have, had she thought she had the right to do this at all. Sure, she was Tim’s ex, but she knew she had no right to get in the way of Tim’s happiness.
Except, everything was fake, so this was okay. Well, everything but Tam’s reactions, she thought as she grabbed Tim by the collar and kissed him hard. For a fleeting moment, she almost felt bad for Tam, with the cameras she knew were flashing, even with her eyes closed, and the way Tim was kissing back, hands pulling her close like they had never broken up, that...
Steph broke the kiss, pushing Tim away, knowing she’d forget why she was here if she let the kiss go on any longer. Remembering her part, she smirked and told him that would be what he was missing. Steph turned on her heel and walked away, but not before catching a glance of Tam, hearing her speak after Tim called after her.
She just walked a little a quicker, so once Tim caught up with her, they’d be out of the public eye. “You did great, Steph,” Tim murmured once they were alone.
“Thanks,” she replied quietly, her arms wrapped around her stomach as she leaned against the wall behind her. “So, what now?”
“No one expects us back at that party,” he offered. “Let’s get out of here.”
Steph gave him curious look. “Tim, you live here. Where’re you planning to go?”
Tim smiled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Well, I was planning to hit one of my safehouses, get some disguises, and we could hit the town,” he replied. “Not like we can patrol without making Vale suspicious, and I owe you for this.
Steph snorted. “Understatement of the century,” she said, pushing off the wall. “Well, you can start by paying for a really expensive dinner, whatever I want.”
“Didn’t expect any less,” he answered, offering his elbow to her. “Anything else, milady?”
“Stop that,” Steph chastised.
Tim frowned, dropping his arm. “Stop what?”
“Stop the charming thing,” she replied, breezing past him. “It’s fake, and I don’t like it.”
He grabbed her arm. “Steph, any faking or acting I was doing got left behind at that party,” he said softly. “I’m just...I guess I’m finding it really easy to be myself around you again..”
Steph stared at him for a long moment before punching him the arm. “I said stop with the charming,” she murmured before linking her arm with his. “I’m already charmed, dammit.”
Tim smiled after a little wince from the punch. “Oh really?” he asked slyly.
“Yeah, really, but if we talk about it, you’ll ruin the moment, so let’s get changed and go eat,” she told him, tugging him toward the exit. “You owe me, remember?”
“I know, I know,” he replied as they walked out of the manor together, arm in arm.

Oh man, that is a GREAT line. So true!
“I’m already charmed, dammit.”
Ahaha, poor Steph! The sad thing is, Tim's not even trying - he's at his most charming when he's not trying! XD
Altogether a perfectly lovely take on Steph's POV in the other story. Thank you so much! I love what you did with it!
