Obama Thing
Oct. 15th, 2008 10:59 pmI got roped into going to this place to watch the debate. Mommy said free food, and since I was gonna need to watch the debate for Poli Sci class ANYWAY, I decided YAY free food! I went, got free stuff. Found out it was an Obama thing. Got an Obama book for free. May read it later.
Gloria's commentary of the debate time!
It was fun to make snarky comments. Mommy even helped fuel the fire, lol. So, Obama was talking about health care then said 'pay as you go' for it. I was like 'Obama = cell phone!' Nows I needs an artist to draw that for me. >>;; Not me though, 'cause I'm lazy.
McCain was really epic fail. I mean, is it really a good idea to keep saying how eloquent your opponent is? I dunno about him, but I like eloquence in a person who is supposed to lead the entire nation. McCain, you kinda did have much of that. He seemed like an angry old man. Then mommy made a comment that he looked like he was chewing tobacco because the side of his face looked like there was something there. Mostly, we agree it was a tumor, and the nickname 'tumor-face' for McCain was born. >>;;
McCain was talking a lot of smack, I swear. Occasionally, Obama did too, but he phrased things pseudo-politely. McCain was just rude and kinda angry. He kept interrupting Obama, but Obama didn't really do that; he waited his turn. Does you have to go back to kindergarten to learn to play nice, tumor-face?
I lol'd when Obama brought up Joe the plumber after McCain kept doing it. Obama was funny, McCain, not so much. I agreed with Obama's school ideas for the most part. McCain made me lol when he said that they'd keep good teachers in the system, and bad ones would have find a new job. Hear that, Ms. Wigoff? :D Obama said the same thing after McCain, but he said that'd he'd give the bad teachers a chance to get better at teaching before booting them.
Then they went over Roe v. Wade. Touchy subject. McCain was too pushy on his views. I think abortion is taking a human life, but McCain could have phrased it better. He made it just sound like 'no abortions, roar!' He could have talked about it being a human life that should be protected because no one else will. Something to that effect. I may not agree completely with Obama on abortion support, but at least he'd make partial birth and late pregnancy abortion illegal (so he says). That would be a good step. And teaching people better about pregnancy and such would probably help too.
I'm done my rant now. I may remember some more later, but those are my main points, I think. >>;;
