Winick...is getting a 6 issue mini-series called... Red Hood: The Lost Days. I-I... It... *incoherent fangirling of JOY* Jason canon. More Jason canon that isn't penned by Daniel or Morrison and is during that nebulous time we all guess about! ...is it bad I want Jason/Talia canon? >.>;; I'll go pretend I didn't say that... But, EEE!

EDIT 2: Here's some work by the interior artist, even though it didn't get published. If he draws Jason as pretty as Dick, he's got me sold. Guh. And he fucking worked with ED BRUBAKER! I think it's a good sign when the artist of a Jason Todd series worked with the writer that brought Bucky Barnes back. *fangirly sigh~*

Agreed, though, with this I'm pretty sure Morrison's Jason will HAVE to be from another Earth. It'd make the most sense considering Morrison's obsession with the multiverse.

Well, the art is definitely gorgeous, and the premise sounds good, but...

Did you see the comments on that linked post? Do people not understand the nature of the original "Crisis" reboot? Jason Todd post-crisis, is not Jason Todd pre-crisis. They are two different people with different backgrounds, and parents who are wildly different in both looks and temperament. I am so fucking tired of people saying that Morrison's red hair thing fits. Because it doesn't. Post crisis Jason had black hair before he met Batman.

I am so tired of people who don't seem to know anything about Jason perpetuating Morrison's fail. I think I'm going to be over in my corner nursing my Morrison loathing. >_<

But. Beautiful art. I'll be buying it, hoping that Winick does this right. Hoping.

I did see the comments! I'm not part of that blog thing or whatever of I'd educate them! Morrison's red haired Jason doesn't even make sense for Pre-Crisis Jason. Something really terrible would have had to happen to Pre-Crisis Jay to make him anything like our Jason, at least anything like his bad side. :/

Wow I didn't even know about this mini series and I am so happy to hear about it. I would love some better written stories about Jason Todd...or any stories that didn't turn him into a crazy, shallow, villain character. I really hope Morrison didn't get to put his input into this.

In my imaginary comic writers-verse, this is the result of Winick having an awesome throwdown with Morrison and Daniels and winning the rights to let Jason keep his black hair because goddamnit they already changed it once with the Crisis and no fucking take-backs unless they're coming back from the dead, mmmkay?

I still hold that B&R!Jason is actually Miller's All-Star-verse Jason. Because that's the only Batman I could honestly imagine forcing a pubescent boy to dye his hair just so it could match the previous Robin's. I mean, I can't be the only one who kind of stopped at that and and checked the book's writer because that is such a fucking Miller move.

And of all the executive decisions Morrison could have made in regards to Jason he had to turn him from a psychopath that actually got things done and got under everyone's skin to a psychopath on a power-trip who just annoys the heck out of everyone before failing all-together?

Would it have been so bad if he'd been included in the Blackest Night series? I mean, they're going after people who died and stuff right? Wouldn't Jason fit the bill for such a premise?! I mean, can you imagine him as a Black Lantern? Or even better- a Red Lantern! The rage would be understandable after Bruce's fucked up message.

And hey, look at that, this turned into a rant. Don't you find that just happens when you think about canon!Jason these days? W/E let me go back to being squeeful.
